Kawasaki 2022 Z650RS – Everything We Know

For 2022, Kawasaki expanded its retro-sport family with another member – the z650rs – giving a small brother to its z900rs.

In a way, this is also an expansion of the manufacturer’s 650 family.

With this new Z650RS, Kawasaki brings back to life its 1977 Z650 – with classic design and updated tech.

Motor and frame

The new Z650RS uses the same platform as the Z650 naked bike and the Ninja 650 sport-bike – 649 cc parallel-twin engine with 68 HP.

The high-tensile steel trellis frame on this machine is a bit different than the other two – Kawasaki made it narrower to fit the retro riding style position – together with a wide handlebar and low seat with two height options – 820 or 800 mm.

Dual 300mm front disc brakes with dual-piston calipers and a 220mm rear disc brake

More chillin’ less rippin’ – This motorcycle was meant to take you cruising around town – an explanation to its rather a simple suspension – a telescopic front fork and horizontal back-link rear. ABS comes as standard on this bike.

Kawasaki designs the under-engine muffler to improve mass centralization and lower the bike’s center of gravity, contributing to the bike’s agile handling performance and head-turning style.

Classic design retro style

The 2022 Kawasaki Z650RS has some cool retro-style features – like the round headlight and the Analogue-style speedometer combined with a modern LCD screen. Together with the cast wheels feature a flat-spoke design meant to resemble classic wire-spoked wheels and the retro-style fuel tank the Z650RS offers a great stylish look.

Riders can choose between two colors – Candy Emerald Green, Metallic Moondust Gray/Ebony

Kawasaki Z650RS verdict

With its lower seat height and friendly engine, this bike is probably one of the nicest motorcycles out there, for both beginners and experienced riders that know exactly what they’re looking for.

With a price tag of 8,999 (for the ABS version), it’s only a bit more expensive than its main competitor, the Yamaha XSR700.
